Regional/National Programs

1. Paul G. Keough Earth Artists Program
2. This an EPA regional contest for students in kindergarten through sixth grade from the six New England states. The program is designed to bring environmental education into the classroom through creative learning. Approximately 1,000 teachers and thousands of grades K-6 students participated in 1998. The entry deadline for the annual program is late-March. Award ceremonies will be held in each New England state in the late spring.

3. EPA's President's Environmental Youth Awards
   
   This is an EPA national program encouraging individuals, classes, schools, summer camps and youth groups to promote local environmental awareness and action. The first place winner from New England will receive recognition from the EPA in Washington, DC to receive an award.

4. The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program 
   
   This is a worldwide science and education program, sponsored by the White House, which coordinates the work of students, teachers, and scientists to study and understand the global environment. GLOBE is an international partnership, involving countries around the world.
