APPLICABILITY OF MODULAR GRANT APPLICATION AND AWARD PROCEDURES TO NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENTS Release Date: April 20, 1999 P.T. National Cancer Institute The National Cancer (NCI) wishes to give notice that beginning with the June 1, 1999 receipt date, "Modular Grant Application and Award" procedures will apply to all competing individual research project grant (R01), and exploratory/developmental grant (R21) applications requesting up to $250,000 direct cost per year, submitted in response to NCI program announcements. More detailed information on modular grant applications is available via the Internet at url: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/modular/modular.htm A list of all NCI program announcements, which should include "Modular Grant Application and Award" procedures can be found at the following location: http://deainfo.nci.nih.gov/extra/pa/all_pa.htm Please note that, where permitted, applications requesting above the $250,000 annual direct cost amount still must provide full budgetary details according to the instructions in the April 1998 version of PHS 398 application.
