Virginia Drought Information: Statewide precipitation for the previous water year (October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008) was in the normal range (85% of normal). Statewide precipitation for the period from October 1, 2006 through November 25, 2008 was below normal (79% of normal). Virginia Drought Monitoring Task Force Report April 20, 2009 New Publication: Continuous Turbidity Monitoring in the Indian Creek Watershed, Tazewell County, Virginia 2006 - 2008: Continuous turbidity data were collected from Indian Creek in Tazewell County to monitor water-quality conditions during the construction of the Jewell Ridge natural gas pipeline. These data were used to identify whether short-term or long-term changes occurred as a result of pipeline construction. This report provides an example of how continuous turbidity monitoring can be utilized as a tool to better manage riverine ecosystems.

station number in the "Subject" line. In a few minutes
you'll get back an email with the most recent stage and
streamflow.
