Advanced Mapping with GAP

Welcome to GAPServe

These pages provide access to GAP state data and reports for completed state GAP projects. You can read project Final Reports online, or download them. You can also view or download GAP data by state, by theme, or by vertebrate species. The map below, shows GAP data available for download through GAPServe. By downloading through GAPServe you can download data from multiple states in the same projection (WGS84).

If the data for your state is not yet available through GAPServe, check the ftp site at ftp://ftp.gap.uidaho.edu/products/. Also, please contact the state project for more information. Also, please check back periodically, as new data is uploaded as it becomes available.

Find GAP Regional Data

If you are interested in the most recent maps and data from the Southwest (AZ, NM, CO, UT, NV), Northwest(OR, WA, ID, MT, WY) or Southeast (VA, TN, SC, NC, KY, MS, GA, FL, AL) GAP projects, please go to the regional products page

Find GAP State Data

You can search for original GAP state project data by specifying a Geographic area and browsing through all data in that state; or by specifying a theme and browsing all data within that theme. GAP themes are: described as Landcover, Stewardship, Animals, Analysis, and Aquatic. The help files on the right provide more information about the search parameters in the "Find GAP Data by Geography or Theme" box.

You can search one or more geospatial data layers documenting land cover, stewardship (ownership and management), vertebrate and invertebrate species habitat models, and species richness: all of which comprise the different GAP datasets. The interface will zip the files resulting from your search into one file and allow you to download the file to your computer. Not all data themes are available for all states or regions.

If you want to make a printable map, without downloading data, you should click here to go to the View GAPServe Maps page.

If you need help with this interface, look at the help pages here.
