Don McKenzie
Don
is a fire and landscape research ecologist. His research interests
include:
Effects of wildfire
on regional air quality: modeling the influences of climatic
variability, forest succession, fuel loadings, and prescribed
burning strategies on anthropogenic and natural emissions, smoke
dispersion, and regional haze.
Landscape mapping of wildland fuels at multiple scales
His favorite places are arid mountain ecosystems, including
the eastern Sierra Nevada, the White Mountains of Nevada, and
the Rocky Mountain Front Range from Glacier National Park to southern
Colorado.
