• Inland Fisheries Grant Applications Due March 31
The Department of Natural Resources is now accepting applications for the 2010 Inland Fisheries Grant (IFG) program, which offer grants up to $200,000 for local projects that enhance Michigan's aquatic resources.

Anglers and boaters can take some easy steps to prevent the spread of fish diseases and other aquatic nuisance species such as zebra mussels by taking the following steps to help prevent the spread of the virus.

• Report Fish Kills

• Large Lakes Program
Michigan has 92 inland lakes that are 1,000 acres or larger. Each provides significant fishing and other recreational opportunities. The program was started in January 2001, to better describe the fisheries in these waters.

• Lake Sturgeon Public Observation
The DNR is looking for where lake sturgeon are in our state at this time and you can help by letting us know where you see them.
