Transportation Trends Illustrated in New BTS Pocket Guide

Monday, January 12, 1998 -- The Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) today released a new source for transportation information in the form of a Pocket Guide to Transportation Statistics.

"This guide illustrates changes in the transportation system and shows how these changes have affected the nation's economy, safety and environment over the past 25 years in a small, attractive and easy-to-use format," said Dr. T.R. Lakshmanan, Director of BTS.

The statistics contained in the Pocket Guide are related to demographic and socioeconomic changes and parallel information contained in the 1997 edition of the Transportation Statistics Annual Report.
