United States: The United States does not collect data on
same day travel to or from the United States nor for Canadian resident overnight
travel to the United States by all modes of transportation. U.S. agencies typically
obtain this data from Statistics Canada. Although not used for the purposes
of this table, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics' American Travel Survey
provides mode of transportation data on U.S. resident travel to Canada for trips
longer than 100 miles (approximately 160 kilometers). (See Appendix B for more
information.)
