Attention Online UI Filers

A technical problem with the department’s internet site made it difficult for customers to file unemployment insurance claims online over Mother’s Day weekend. The problem has been corrected, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Due to a very high volume of claim submissions, the RI Department of Labor and Training is currently experiencing delays in processing some unemployment claims filed online. To address this problem, we have temporarily reassigned a greater percentage of our staff to focus solely on online claim processing. Also, Call Center phone lines are open until 5:00 pm; callers experiencing difficulty calling earlier in the day may wish to try their call after 3:00 pm.

Please be reassured that if you were assigned a confirmation number for a claim filed online, we have received your claim and are currently processing it. To check the status of your internet claim visit https://uiclaims.state.ri.us/UI-INET-STAT/IntroPage.aspx. You may also email any questions to uihelp@dlt.ri.gov. Emails are currently answered within three business days. If you have already filed online, please do not resubmit an existing claim, as this will extend your processing time further. We apologize for any delays, and appreciate your patience.
