#06-65Commerce Under Secretary to Highlight Southeast Florida Innovation
Washington, D.C . - Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Jon Dudas will address members of the Business Development Board's life sciences cluster committee on Friday, November 3, to highlight the importance of intellectual property protection to the bioscience sector and the dangers of piracy and counterfeiting in a global market. He also will report on the national employment numbers for the month of October, which will be released that morning.
Additionally, Under Secretary Dudas will present the U.S. Department of Commerce's Export Achievement Certificate to Dyadic International of Jupiter, FL, for their accomplishments in export sales. Dyadic is a Florida biotech company specializing in industrial enzymes, biofuels and biotherapeutics that has worked with the Commerce Department's U.S. Commercial Service to expand its sales in Brazil.
