How to Report Severe Weather for our County Warning Area

The National Weather Service in Jackson issues TORNADO, SEVERE THUNDERSTORM, and FLOOD warnings for most of Mississippi, Extreme Southeast Arkansas, and Northeast Louisiana. We need timely and accurate severe weather reports to improve our warnings and SAVE LIVES. As a National Weather Service Spotter, you can help by reporting the severe weather events you see.

WHAT TO REPORT (Include Location and Time Of Occurence)


Tornadoes

Funnel Clouds

High Winds that blow trees and power lines

High Winds and Hail that damage buildings

Dime-sized hail, or larger

Flooding of homes, buildings, or major roads.

Report any of these events to your local Skywarn Net...Law Enforcement Agency...Radio/TV Media or the National Weather Service Office in Jackson at (601)936-2189.
