human papillomavirus vaccine (HYOO-mun PA-pih-LOH-muh-VY-rus vak-SEEN)

 A vaccine being studied in the prevention of human papillomavirus infection and cervical cancer. Infection with certain types of human papillomavirus increases the risk of developing cervical cancer. Also called HPV vaccine.
