Fractured-Rock Aquifers 2002

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) along with the National Ground Water Association and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are co-sponsoring Fractured-Rock Aquifers 2002 in Denver, Colorado, March 13-15, 2002. The goal of the conference is to foster communication between policymakers, land-use planners, and ground water scientists to promote the sustainable use of vulnerable natural resources. Scientists from the Toxic Substances Hydrology (Toxics) Program will present the following papers on an approach to characterizing fractured rock aquifers. This apporach was developed at the Toxics Program's Mirror Lake Fractured Rock Research Site, New Hampshire, and integrates the use of hydraulic, geochemical, and geophysical information.

In addition to the above presentations by Toxics Program scientists, USGS scientists will give 17 additional presentations.
