Projects & PlansSCHEDULE OF PROPOSED ACTIONSFour times a year (quarterly), the Eldorado National Forest publishes a Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPAs). Expect updates in January, April, July, and October. The Schedule includes projects being considered on the Eldorado National Forest and is designed to provide you with information and invite your input on ongoing Forest environmental analyses. Projects are separated by Forest unit (Supervisor's Office, Amador, Georgetown, Pacific and Placerville Ranger Districts) and include a description of the project, the location, pertinent dates, analysis status and a contact person.
TRAVEL MANAGEMENT PROJECT (Route Designation)The Eldorado National Forest is in the midst of a three-year public process which will lead to a designated motorized route system. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement was released in July 2007. Check out the Project Page for documents, maps, public meetings, commenting instructions, background, and process information. APPEALS AND LITIGATIONForest Service managers make many resource-management decisions, which may be subject to appeal (request to a higher authority for administrative review of a decision). Power Fire Restoration : In October of 2004, over 16,000 acres of land was burned by the Power Fire on the Amador Ranger District south of Bear River Reservoir. SIERRA NEVADA FRAMEWORK CONSERVATION COLLABORATIONThe Sierra Nevada Framework for Conservation and Collaboration, integrating science into natural resource management through improved cooperation among tribes, local governments, state and federal agencies.
