308.60 - USGS Identification Clothing – Corporate Identification Committee

1. Establishment. The USGS Identification Clothing – Corporate Identification (ICCI) Committee is established with the issuance of this Survey Manual (SM) chapter in accordance with SM 308.1.5B(1).

2. Purpose. The purpose of the ICCI Committee is to:

A. Preserve the integrity of USGS corporate identification through the established official identification clothing line and outreach and promotional items available through the Reston Supply Service Center (RSSC), by periodically evaluating these items and determining their suitability to fulfill identification and field requirements.

B. Provide employees the means to submit comments and recommendations on identification clothing, outreach and promotional items, and USGS corporate identification products on a continuing basis.

C. Select appropriate items suggested to expand the list of identification clothing, USGS corporate identification items, and outreach and promotional items, and recommend them for approval to the Office of Communication.

D. Keep Survey Manual Chapter 408-3 (Identification Clothing) current.

3. Representation. The committee will be comprised of eleven (11) members, as follows.
A. The Bureau Supply Management Officer will serve as Chair.

B. A representative from the Director’s Office, Office of Administrative Policy and Services, each discipline (Biology, Geology, Geography, and Water), and each region (Eastern, Central, and Western).

C. Inventory Manager of the Reston Supply Service Center (RSSC), which stocks the materials.

4. Type of Organization. Permanent.

5. Reporting. To the Chief, Office of Administrative Policy and Services (APS).

6. Staff. Secretarial service will be arranged through the membership.

7. Meetings. The meetings will be held as frequently as necessary to complete the assigned tasks, but no less than one per month until completion of all requirements for which a session was convened. The meeting schedule will be widely communicated and posted. Meetings may also be called at the discretion of the Chair. When not in session, the membership may resolve issues by telephone or electronic mail.

8. Termination Date. None. This Committee will be reviewed every 3 years.
