The annual Big Brother Fishing event took place at Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge on July 13, 2008 at the Morris Island Visitor Center.  Refuge Manager Michael Brady greeted 12 pairs of Big and Little Brothers, all from Boston.  The day was filled with many new adventures, as most of the Little Brothers had never been to the ocean.  Refuge Manager  Brady took the children for a nature walk along the Morris Island Trail and stopped to tag horseshoe crabs along the waters edge.  The group then joined Juro Mukai and the volunteers from the Flyfishing Forum who assisted the children on the finer points of fishing for striped bass.  A local ferry service, Rip Ryder, volunteered free shuttle rides for all participants.  The day ended with an awards ceremony at the refuge visitor center.
