Journal Entry   Back WALLKILL RIVER NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGEPRESENTS CCP TO ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING BOARD Northeast Region, March 14, 2008 Print Friendly Version Refuge Manager Edward Henry met with the Orange County, N.Y., planning department staff to review the refuge's CCP and Land Protection Plan, which includes about 400 acres in the county. In addition, participants in the meeting further explored working together to protect the Wallkill River while providing for additional recreational opportunities. The planning department will be preparing comments for the Service and needed a better orientation to the refuge and the plan. Our organizations will be working together more in the future and looking for ways to continue partnership opportunities to look at the Wallkill River from both New York and New Jersey's perspectives.
