On October 17, the Draft Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) for Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge and Management Area was made available for public review.

The planning process, underway for several years, included public involvement and participation from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

The accompanying environmental assessment included a description and analysis of three alternatives being considered as guidance for managing the Refuge over the succeeding 15 years.

The Division of Conservation Planning guides the development of CCPs for Refuge System lands throughout Region 3 and helps fulfill a Congressional mandate to complete CCPs for all units of the Refuge System by 2012.
