Journal Entry   Back Erie National Wildlife Refuge Holds Family Fishing Event Northeast Region, May 19, 2007 Print Friendly Version In partnership with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Erie National Wildlife Refuge sponsored a Family Fishing Event on May 19th.  In total, 87 people participated, 52 of those were children from 2-14 years of age.   The new anglers were taught fishing ethics, how to handle equipment, and casting skills.   After the lesson, all participants were given the opportunity to fish for free in one of the refuges impoundments.   Lunch and prizes made the day an even bigger success!
