This past week, Curtis Friez gave U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow's Upper Peninsula staff member Sheri Davie a tour of the recent hatchery enhancements at Pendills Creek National Fish Hatchery.

Davie has been a very good friend to Pendills Creek National Fish Hatchery keeping Senator Stabenow informed of our activities.  She has also been very involved with the "Friends of Pendills Creek Hatchery" our local Friends Group to assist them when possible.

Senator Stabenow is a strong supporter of the lake trout restoration work the Service conducts and is genuinely interested in the hatchery's program.  She sawthe water filtration and oxygen supplementation capabilities.  Both improvements are making the environment our production fish live in much better.

These enhancements have contributed to major yearling production increases and a new fall fingerling program.  She seemed very impressed over the new capabilities and better quality of fish being produced.
