TCFO Biologist Presents Information on Post-Delisting Management of Wolves to Law Enforcement Officers
Midwest Region, July 21, 2007
Print Friendly Version

On July 21, Phil Delphey of the Twin Cities Ecological Services Field Office gave a presentation on post-delisting management and monitoring of gray wolves in the Western Great Lakes Distinct Population Segment, during the North American Wildlife Enforcement Officers Association annual conference.

Gray wolves within the boundaries of this DPS were removed from the federal list of endangered and threatened species on March 12, shifting primary management responsibilities (e.g., of depredating wolves) to states and tribes.

Delphey’s presentation was part of “Playing with the Big Dogs”, a training session for officers, which was led by Patrick Lund, the Service’s Senior Resident Agent for Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
