The annual "Take A Kid Fishing" event at Muscatatuck NWR provided approximately 300 youngsters and their parents a high quality fishing opportunity, on June 2.  

Special fishing for youngsters was allowed on a pond normally closed to fishing, and several youngsters had the excitement of catching their first fish.   

Contests were held for the most and biggest fish, casting distance and accuracy, and fish art.   

A fly-fishing demonstration and fly-tying demonstation was given by a local fishing group, and area Boy Scouts provided a food concession.
