Detroit Lakes WMD Hosts Saw Training

Detroit Lakes WMD hosted a chainsaw training session for FWS employees in the western side of the region. 

Eight participated in this training session that included, class room, as well as hands-on maintance and sawing practice. Employees attending the training where, Casey Fevig, BIO Tech and  Jason Westholter Fire Fighter DLWMD, Luke Anderson and Stephen Stensgard BIO Tech Fergus Falls WMD, Adam Mathwig, Lithcfield WMD,  Spencer Berg SCEP-Maintenace Morris WMD and Micheal Jone Fire Fighter Union Slough NWR.  Students that participate in wildland fire operations were given credit in the Inter Agency Incident Qualification and Certification System for completion of S-212 Wildland Fire Chain Saw.  Those employees that did not have the required Wildland Fire Management course and experience prerequisutes were give credit for attending the R-3 required chainsaw safety training.

Instructors inlcuded, Patrick Wagner Fire Program Tech DLWMD, Cory Henry Senior Fire Fighter DLWMD and Tim Fonderist of Fergus Falls WMD.
