The 28th Annual Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge Fishing Derby for kids took place on June2, 2007.  275 people attended the event, including 140 youth who participated in the derby and received a goody bag filled with donated fishing tackle and a Summer Ecojournal book for kids.  All participants had the opportunity to participate in two different Hooked On Fishing International sponsored contests including; (1) Fujifilm Fish Photograph & Release, (2) Zebco Casting Contest.  Prizes for these contests include Fuji Quick Snap cameras, award certificates, fishing rods, $100, $250, and $500 Walmart shopping cards, and $250, $500, and $1,000 U.S. Savings Bonds.

Lunch consisted of hotdogs, chips, punch, and ice cream. After lunch, presentations were made about the (1)  National Wildlife Refuge System & Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge, and (2) Safety, Ethics & Regulations.  Door prizes, made possible through the generosity of Walmart and many local, state and national sponsors, were presented to lucky participants.
