Journal Entry   Back Wallkill River National Wildlife RefugeHosts Amphibian Crossing Orientation Program Northeast Region, February 16, 2007 Print Friendly Version Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge, working in conjunction with the Friends of the Wallkill River Refuges, presented a program on amphibian identification and road crossing. Fifteen people attended the program. The program is part of a larger effort by the Friends and the refuge to survey road crossing in the vicinity of vernal pools to look at road-related mortality. A follow-up program will be held in the near future.
