More than 1,000 children passed through the Northland Sportsman’s Club event on September 10, and Fish Biologists Wayne Talo and Tim Smigielski ,Jordan River National Fish Hatchery, were on hand to promote the Great Lakes fisheries programs. 

Those attending learned about aquatic nuisance species, sea lamprey control, Lake trout restoration and hatchery operations. 

The families enjoyed samples of wild game, trout fishing ponds, shooting sports, archery and exhibits by Michigan Trappers Association,  NWTF, Audubon Society and MDNR Law Enforcement.
