Journal Entry   Back Jaguar Conservation Team Assessment/Framework and MOA Development Southwest Region, June 29, 2006 Print Friendly Version Arizona Ecological Services has been assisting the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AGFD) and the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) in developing a new Jaguar Conservation Team (JAGCT) assessment and framework for management of the jaguar in northern Mexico and the southern United States.  We have coordinated in developing the drafts for public and JAGCT member reviews, and participated in the public discussions of the drafts.  AZ ES and the RO briefed the Regional Director on the assessment/framework and associated Memorandum of Agreement, and AZ ES presented the RD's thoughts and concerns to the JAGCT.  AZ ES is continuing to assist the states in completing the assessment/framework and MOA so the RD and leadership of other agencies will become signatory members of the JAGCT sometime in the fall of 2006.
