The Ozark Plateau National Wildlife Refuge manager gave a presentation at the National Speleological Society's (NSS) Texas Speleological Association Convention on the assistance provided by volunteers from local grottos of the NSS over the past twenty years in locating caves; assisting the refuge in constructing12 cave gates designed to protect federally listed Ozark big-eared bats, gray bats, and cavefish; and mapping nearly 9 miles of passage in a large cave used by both endangered Ozark big-eared bats and gray bats.
