Journal Entry   Back Plans and Agreements Meeting with Gila Watershed Partnership Southwest Region, August 11, 2005 Print Friendly Version Arizona Ecological Services staff met with Jan Holder of the Gila Watershed Partnership to discuss plans and agreements available for private land.  Staff presented Habitat Conservation Plans, Safe Harbor Agreements, and Candidate Conservation Agreements with Assurances.  The reasons, processes, and differences between the plans and agreements were discussed.  We also discussed availability of funding for pursuing Habitat Conservation Plans.  Arizona Ecological Services staff will assist the Gila Watershed Partnership in developing a grant proposal to begin the Habitat Conservation Plan process, which will be submitted next year.  Subsequent to the meeting, Jan Holder informed us that she has received funding from Environmental Defense to develop a regional safe harbor agreement in the Safford Valley.
