Allen White, contaminants specialist, attended a meeting in Portland, Oregon, September 26-30 to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health inspection Service (APHIS) and Service respresetatives on  section 7 consultation on a proposed control program for grasshoppers and Mormon crickets. The consultation involves the effects of proposed pesticide application on over 200 federally listed threatened and endangered species in 17 western states.  Numerous issues were discussed and will need to be resolved before the consultation can proceed.
