Journal Entry   Back FWS EMPLOYEE HONORED FOR HELPING SAVE ANGLER Mountain-Prairie Region, June 1, 2005 Print Friendly Version Shawn Tripp, a park ranger at Upper Souris NWR near Foxholm, N.D., was one of four men honored for helping save an angler whose boat had overturned in Lake Darling in September 2004. Tripp and the other three received the N.D. Peace Officer's Association Lifesaving Award on June 1 at a ceremony in Mohall. The county emergency manager's letter of nomination said, ?The quick thinking of these individuals may have saved a life.? The survivor stayed with the capsized boat overnight, while the two other occupants of the craft drowned while apparently trying to swim to shore.
