Methylmercury Degradation Rates
Format for Everglades Methylmercury Degradation Rate DataAll the files are provided as Excell files with the appropriate headers. Depth intervals with an asterisk (*) indicate variable depth floc later, estimated average interval. These data represent "potential" MeHg degradation rates only (i.e. base on the 14C-MeHg amendment level), not in-situ rates. The first-order methylmercury (MeHg) degradation rate constant (k) represents the fraction of the radiotracer (14C-MeHg) degraded per day. The potential MeHg degradation rate is then calculated as: rate = [14C-MeHg injected] - [14C-MeHg injected]*EXP(-k*1 day). The standard deviation for both rate constants and potential rates are given in ( ). If you need further information about this project, you may contact Mark Marvin-DiPasquale at 650-329-4442. |
