Welcome!

The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation is the primary organization dedicated to finding a cure for and raising awareness of Pulmonary Fibrosis, an often fatal lung disease. The Foundation is also devoted to improving the quality of life for those afflicted with this illness through:

  • Funding and supporting new research.
  • Providing educational materials to the medical and lay communities.
  • Obtaining Congressional Support to increase funding of the NIH to find a cure for Pulmonary Fibrosis.
  • Convincing the drug companies to initiate additional studies to find an effective treatment.
  • Raising funds so that Medical and Scientific Researchers can devote their time exclusively to finding a cure and not have to be diverted from these tasks to seek financial support.
  • Providing support groups, information and reassurance.

Through your support we hope to empower scientists and physicians to sufficiently increase biomedical knowledge to the point where having Pulmonary Fibrosis no longer implies a death sentence.

After thirty years of investigation and research, The exact causes of Pulmonary Fibrosis continues to elude us. In addition we still do not have an effective treatment for this devastating disease. To solve this dilemma we have joined forces with the University of Chicago to set up a Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Center of Excellence. The Center will be utilizing the School of Medicine's  Laboratory and staff. We have committed $1,000,000 to fund this research over the next three years.
