Sailing is a great way to explore the scenery and wildlife of Jamaica Bay.

Jamaica Bay Unit

Gateway's Jamaica Bay Unit in Brooklyn and Queens includes a wealth of history, nature and recreation, from New York City's first major airport and coastal fortifications to a wildlife refuge and pristine beaches. It's migration time again! Check out what birds are heading south for the winter at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. While you are there, you can learn what's up, besides the birds, at the Visitor Contact Center.
