Abstract Five 0 deg pole barrier impact tests were conducted for research and development in support of the CRASH III damage algorithm reformulation. These tests were conducted on a 1985 Ford Tempo 4-door sedan, VIN 2FABP22X6FB288811. The tests conducted were as follows: Test No. 920312-1: 03/12/92 at time=0933, 9.6 mph (15.4 kph), maximum cumulative crush: 13.0 in. (33.0 cm); Test No. 920312-2: 03/12/92 at time=1040, 9.6 mph (15.4 kph), maximum cumulative crush: 16.0 in. (40.6 cm); Test No. 920312-3: 03/12/92 at time=1141, 14.8 mph (23.8 kph), maximum cumulative crush: 18.0 in. (45.7 cm); Test No. 920312-4: 03/12/92 at time=1253, 20.0 mph (32.2 kph), maximum cumulative crush: 27.0 in. (68.6 cm); and Test No. 920312-5: 03/12/92 at time=1359, 35.1 mph (56.5 kph), maximum cumulative crush: 39.0 in. (99.1 cm).
