Stephen Guertin Named Regional Director for the Mountain-Prairie Region of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has announced the selection of Steve Guertin as the new Regional Director of the Mountain-Prairie Region, headquartered in Denver, Colorado.  The Mountain-Prairie Region includes Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas.

Guertin, who served as Acting Regional Director of the Mountain-Prairie Region last fall, will assume his duties in February.  Prior to this appointment, he was the Service’s Budget Officer for the past eight years in Washington, D.C.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity to work with our State partners, other Federal agencies, Tribal governments, private organizations, and the public to conserve and protect the outstanding natural resources found in the Mountain Prairie Region,” said Guertin.

Guertin has a bachelors degree from Norwich University in Vermont and a Master’s of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh.
