Description: In about 1.6 miles of moderate grades, the trail provides access to Windy Valley (a pristine mountain meadow with a small crystal clear creek) via the Windy Valley Trail. Snow Camp Meadow is to the north over a much steeper trail after fording Windy Valley Creek. The trail ends in a shaded forested area near Fairview Meadow. Magnificent views and vegetative variety add to the attractions along this route. Portions of the trail are very steep beyond Windy Valley and the trail footing is fairly rugged.

The Snow Camp Lookout, which is rented by reservation, is also accessible via the Snow Camp Lookout Trail. If the Lookout is occupied we ask that you allow the renters to have privacy.

Geologic Features of the Snow Camp Trail

Access:

Southern: From Highway 101 in Brookings, Oregon, take County road 784 (North Bank), to Forest Service road 1376 for approximately 15 miles.

Northern: From Highway 101 near Gold Beach, Oregon, take Hunter Creek Road, to Forest Service road 3680 to Fairview Meadow. Access road to trailhead and camp is signed.
