Front Country Ranger District
San Gorgonio and Cajon Ranger Stations – Permits are valid for 12 months and
a minimum of 2 cords of wood, at a cost of $20.00

Basic Conditions and Rules that apply to all areas:
- Gathering of fuelwood must be on National Forest Land, location will
be provided.
- One permit per household at one time.
- Limit 10 cords per year, per household.
- Permits are valid for 12 months, April 1 through March 31.
- Permits are not refundable.
- All chainsaws must have a US Forest Service approved spark arrester.

You must have a serviceable round point shovel no less than 46 inches in length, and an approved ABC class fire extinguisher within 25 feet of the
cutting area.

You must report any fire immediately – Dial 911

Cutting may be restricted on days posing high fire danger and current weather conditions.

Permit holders are required to contact the Forest Service in advance of
cutting to determine the fire restrictions in effect for that day.
Cutting permits may be purchased at any
San Bernardino Forest Ranger Station or by mail for the Arrowhead and Big Bear area only.
