Fire Safe Councils
These are community organizations formed to assist residents of the community by making their homes, neighborhoods, and communities fire safe. Fire Safe Councils enlist community participation in wildfire prevention and offer a range of education tools to raise awareness of the need to prepare for wildfire.
Fire Safe Councils are located in numerous communities adjacent to the San Bernardino National Forest, including Lytle Creek, Crest
Forest, Green Valley, Lake Arrowhead, Running Springs, Oak Glen, and Idyllwild. The Forest Service works closely with local Fire Safe Councils to reduce fire hazards.

Forest Care - A new approach to protecting and maintaining our
community forests
A healthy forest is something we all want and can enjoy. Those of us living in woodland neighborhoods have a special responsibility to
help the forest achieve the healthy balance that will sustain our mountain communities and lifestyle for generations to come.
Forest Care is the program that provides those of us living in the
forest with the tools to make sure our small part of this important environment is cared for and is as healthy as possible.
If you have property smaller than 5 acres and can count more than 200 trees per acre over two feet tall on your land, then you qualify
for Forest Care. Call us at 1 (888) 883-THIN or complete the form
below and we'll arrange a free visit from a licensed professional forester to verify that you qualify and help you create your own
custom Forest Care plan.
