Grants Management (Policy and Operations)
Grants Management’s Mission Statement: To provide efficient and effective management and administration of IHS grants through quality customer service and technical expertise to all of valued internal and external customers.
The Grants Policy Staff (GPS) is organizationally located under the Office of Management Services (OMS) where the Chief Grants Management Officer resides. GPS provides technical oversight of all DGO grants operations functions to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, policies (HHS and IHS) and terms of award applied to our grant programs. The office develops and maintains policies and procedures for IHS grants management. GPS maintains the grant IHS Grants Management Certification Program, training for internal staff (grants/program) as well as grantees. The CGMO provides technical oversight of all grants staff and serves as a liaison between HHS Office of Grants Policy and Oversight and Evaluation on all grants management-related issues. Finally, GPS maintains all grant systems functions and is responsible for responding to inquiries and maintaining grant opportunities on Grants.gov

The Division of Grants Operations (DGO) is located under the OMS and falls under the oversight of GPS. The primary purpose of DGO is to solicit, award, and administer grants and cooperative agreements for all IHS grantee recipients. The DGO also provides grantees with guidance, financial management, and technical assistance.
