GSA must receive postmarked or electronic submission(s) no later than August 29, 2008 - THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSIONS.

Eligibility:  Federal government employees who accomplished individual or team achievements within the two years prior to the entry deadline are eligible.  Contractors are not eligible for any award in this program.

Submission Requirements:  Entries may be submitted by one of the following methods:

  1. Complete the online entry form
  2. Download, print, and mail hardcopy
  3. Download, complete form electronically, and email with narrative response

Submission requirements for all entry methods:

  • Submissions should include an entry form plus narrative responses to the six items listed below.
  • Agencies may nominate more than one practice; however, a separate entry form is required for each submission.
  • The complete package including the entry form should not exceed five pages.
  • Do not include charts, graphs, or pictures within your entry--they will be removed.
  • If providing other than an electronic entry, each entry should be stapled in the upper left-hand corner.  Please do not submit entry in binders or folders.

NOTE:  For submissions being mailed, entries must be typed, single-spaced, in 12-point type, on 8½  x 11-inch paper.  Attach the entry form to the narrative and submit the original package [see address below].

All entries become the property of GSA's Office of Travel, Transportation, and Asset Management for use as needed in the award program and will not be returned.  Entries and winners may be posted on GSA's website.

Please respond to each item.  These items should guide, but not limit, your response (include the text, as provided below, immediately before each of your responses).  Also, see judges' criteria below.

  1. Describe submitted areas of achievement. Emphasize creativity and explain how achievement demonstrates originality and innovation. Tell how the innovation is manifested and how it was or can be validated.
  2. Explain the background of the organization and the circumstances that led to development of your achievement.
  3. Identify the problem(s) or challenge(s). Were there challenges to be overcome during development and/or implementation?
  4. List the most significant achievements. Explain benefits or results, especially cost to implement versus cost savings, if data are available. Provide substantive documentation as well as examples (cost and/or time savings, organizational efficiencies, customer satisfaction, employee productivity, sustainability, etc.).
  5. Describe your achievement's transferability or the degree to which it shows promise of inspiring successful replication by other Federal agencies. Be sure to mention whether other agencies or organizations have already adopted your practice.
  6. Provide any additional comments you feel will further support your nomination.
