  • Veterans Writing Project workshop for Wounded Warriors in San Antonio

    writers_foundation_logo.jpgThe Veteran's Writing Project is seeking any Wounded Warrior with an interest in writing—no previous experience is necessary, just the desire to create. Forty to fifty military veterans will have the opportunity to work with some of the top writers in America for a two-day workshop June 6th and 7th in San Antonio. This is a chance to explore your creativity through writing. Whether a short story, a screenplay, a novel, a poem, a children's book or a journal.

  • WWP Applauds Senators Akaka and Burr for Family Caregiver Support Legislation

    Jacksonville, FL (April 2, 2009) – Today, Wounded Warrior Project applauds Senator Daniel Akaka (D-HI) and Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) for their introduction of new legislation, the Family Caregiver Program Act of 2009, to assist the family caregivers of the most severely wounded veterans.  WWP also pledges their strongest support for this vitally needed legislation. 

     

    Senator Akaka is the Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and Senator Burr is the ranking member. 

  • Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Appoints New CEO

Nardizzi is the successor to WWP Founder John Melia who will remain affiliated and involved with the organization.

  • Project Odyssey Aims to Teach Coping Skills for Combating Post-Traumatic Stress

    Jacksonville, FL (February 12, 2009)- Wounded Warrior Project and the Wildcatter Ranch announced today that they will host 16 wounded warriors as part of WWP’s Project Odyssey program to combat post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). 

     

    Project Odyssey brings together veterans with PTSD and readjustment challenges for activities that offer healthy support in the healing process.
