    THOMAS P. O’BRIEN NOMINATED BY PRESIDENT TO BE UNITED STATES ATTORNEY

    The president today announced that Thomas P. O’Brien has been nominated to become the United States Attorney for the Central District of Califomia.

    O’Brien has been an Assistant United States Attorney in the office for nearly seven years, after having served as a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles County for six years. O’Brien currently serves as the office’s Criminal Chief, a position he has held for the last two years.

    “I am honored that the president has nominated me for this position and look forward to serving as United States Attorney for the Central District of California,” said O’Brien. “This office has always done great work, and I am pleased that I will now have the opportunity to lead our efforts to continue this tradition.”
