Description: Campers to the Stony Point area have long appreciated this old-growth hardwood site for it’s excellent birding opportunities and beautiful spring wildflowers. A self-guiding trail from the campground leads you through the forest and gives you a glimpse of the many wildflowers including: Trillium, Dutchmens Breeches, Wild Onion, Wild Ginger, Bloodroot and Jack-in-th-Pulpit. The trail will also lead you past an older Anishinabe maple-sugaring camp. Stony Point is a traditional gathering place.

Safety First: The Stony Point Interpretive Trail is located within a high use recreation area, with campground hosts on hand from May thru October if you have any questions regarding trail conditions. A self-guiding interpretive trail map is available at the trailhead. Water is available at the campground. Bring your bug spray during the summer months and always check for wood ticks after leaving the trail.

Directions: From Walker, Minnesota, go six miles east on Highway 200, turn left on County Road 13 (Onigum Road) and go five miles to Forest Road 3797 and take a right and follow signs to the Stony Point Campground.
