 2009 Hurricane Season Notes
2009 Houston/Galveston Hurricane Workshop
Now is the time to get ready for the 2009 hurricane season. The Houston/Galveston National Weather Service Office will hold its
annual 2009 Workshop on Saturday, May 30th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the
George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. As always, admission will be free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!

Historical Hurricane Tracks webpage that allows you to easily search
and display more than 150 years (thru the 2007 season) of Atlantic Basin tropical cyclone data.
Of the many threats to residents of Southeast Texas, perhaps the most recognized
is the Tropical Cyclone. Below is a list of some information regarding this menace.

While forecasting in itself is hard enough, forecasting hurricanes is by far more difficult.
The intrepid Dr. William Gray of Colorado State University endeavors to do so. He and his team
of researchers publishes a forecast and an updated forecast every year on what they think is
