It is the individual climber's responsibility to insure that the guide chosen is one of the six authorized guide services. Any individual or group that is found to be guided by an unauthorized guide will have their registration voided, be removed from the mountain, and issued a citation.

The following six services are the only guide services authorized to lead commercial trips on Mt. McKinley and Mt. Foraker. Other guide services may have permits to lead trips on other peaks in Denali National Park and Preserve.
