The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeks individuals with the right skills, values and motivation to help accomplish the EPA mission to protect human health and the environment.

The Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA), works towards this mission by ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations, preventing pollution, promoting environmental stewardship and prosecution of environmental violators. This broad charge requires a multi-disciplinary workforce of professionals with a wide range of expertise including, but not limited to, the sciences, engineering, information technology, law enforcement, journalism, business management, law and public administration. Nationwide, over 3,000 staff are engaged in the work of compliance monitoring and assessment, criminal and civil enforcement, case development and litigation, environmental education and training, policy development and analysis, compliance assistance, and communications. Our staff works with federal agencies, state, local and tribal governments, industry, small business, academia and non-governmental organizations.
