News From the Superintendent

Please join our rangers and volunteers in exploring the singular sites of Boston National Historical Park, ranging from steepled churches and grand meeting halls to carefully preserved colonial homes, battlegrounds, and America’s oldest commissioned warship. Experience America’s proud and storied maritime history at the Charlestown Navy Yard. Recount distant naval battles with a USS Cassin Young volunteer. Take a stroll back in time along the Freedom Trail where interpreters bring history to life. Here are some highlights of what is happening at Boston National Historical Park over the next couple of months. Our accomplishments are due to the many dedicated employees and volunteers who work in support of the park.

Old North Church Steeple  

Did You Know?
Did you know that Old North Church's steeple has been replaced twice since the display of the signal lanterns on April 18, 1775? In neither case was the downfall caused by revolution, but by a mighty wind, a nameless storm of October, 1804, and Hurricane Carol, August, 1954.
