Military Wife Gets a Hand with Home Repairs
Chicago, Ill., May 6, 2009, By Casey Toner, SouthtownStar Staff Writer- Like many wives of deployed military personnel, Park Forest resident Rianne Toll is burdened by a heavy heart and a fuller plate.
Her husband, Jeffrey Toll Jr., is in the Navy Reserve and has worked in an armory in Kuwait for the past eight months. His absence leaves the stay-at-home mom in charge of their three children - ages 14, 12, and 9 - all whom live at home with her in their middle-class, ranch-style house in the 100 block of Shabbona Drive.

VFW Pleased With VA Budget Increase
Challenge to Congress is pass appropriations before Oct. 1
Washington, D.C., May 7, 2009– The nation’s largest organization of combat veterans is very pleased with the administration’s fiscal year 2010 budget request for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
“This is a very good budget,” said Glen M. Gardner Jr., the national commander of the 2.2 million-member Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. and its Auxiliaries.
