Recovery Act Limited Competition for NIH Grants: Research and Research Infrastructure “Grand Opportunities” (RC2) RFA-OD-09-004

National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NCMHD)

The NIH has established a new program under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, referred to as the Research and Research Infrastructure “Grand Opportunities” or "GO" grants is one of several initiatives that comprise the overall NIH recovery investment strategy as outlined at http://grants.nih.gov/recovery/.

This new program will support high-impact ideas that lend themselves to short-term, non-renewable funding and may lay the foundation for new fields of investigation. Applicants may propose to address a specific research question or to create a unique infrastructure/resource designed to accelerate scientific progress in the future. The initiative is designed to provide investigators and institutions with the opportunity to engage in new avenues of research with a high likelihood of significant impact on growth and investment in biomedical or behavioral research and development, public health and health care delivery.

The NCMHD is participating in the NIH “GO” grants program and has identified four high priority areas for funding. More information on the GO grant is available at RFA-OD-09-004.

AREAS of SCIENTIFIC PRIORITY

The NCMHD will accept applications for GO grant support that are responsive to the topics listed below. Additional detail on each topic is accessible by clicking on the specific link.

For scientific or technical questions relating to each topic, contact the program official identified for the specific solicitation.

Application Guidelines: Guidance on submitting an application is available under the RFA-OD-09-004 at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-OD-09-004.html
